Wow, I dont think Ive seen the board this quite since we started 2 years ago.

I know Ive been working alot lately, but geesh, did you all have to go quite at the same time?

We have so much happening this last few weeks. Getting organized for sexpo next wednesday. Plus Im in the middle of a $120k house fitout, so working my butt off and trying to squeze a little quite time in whilst Im at it.

Just finished doing the Bas's for both fleshlight and my own biz sad.gif Sometimes being in business can suck, especially when you have to do that sort of crap every 3 months sad.gif

So I am going to have to assume you're all off flighting to heavenly heights of pleasure since there is a lack of posting. Looks like Im gonna have to find you all some new topics to discuss. Ive got a couple Ive been meaning to get started on, but will see how we go.

I've been wondering! Since I posted a "thank you" on Yummy last Friday, there's been "not a lot". I have not posted on a couple of threads which don't have any relevance to me, as I'm not in Australia.

Last night I thought about reviving the thread "The day the forum died (temporarily)" missing off the "temporarily! rolleyes.gif

Sorry to hear you are working flat out, with Sexpo coming up, but at least it's not too far from you. I guess it means a long flight for Spool, though.

It will all get going again suddenly, I bet.

Cheers, jonnyW

P.S. decided to Bump the old thread!

yep poor spool gets a long as flight, but he is getting here monday to do some photography for a couple of days before it

I noticed the old thread popping up, about to go post in there too smile.gif

guilty of the next person at not finding enough time lately.
but im in the middle of repainting my house. not that i quite finished the first time. was a bit of a jumbled mess. every room was nearly a different colour while i was trying to settle on which one i liked lol. well i picked the one i liked now in the process of getting the rest of the rooms to look the same. in addition to adding a couple of walls and removing an old one i now have another bedroom as well.
as for work well for a change i have our bas completed already. usually it gets done on the morning of the due date lol.
but then again its down pat now. most of the stuff is done just a matter of printing a report off the computer and filling in the boxes.

sounds like all is well in order for sexpo faz. alas im not going to make it after all unfortunately. would of really liked to but cant do the impossible i suppose. hope it does all go smoothly for you with many a happy guy flighting into heaven after sexpo wink.gif

I know the feeling - at the end of a solid day's work, you still have to spend another hour getting the accounts up to date, and doing the BAS whenever it comes around.
That being said, I'd have it no other way - sure beats the 9 to 5. smile.gif

For sure FLN, no way in the world id go back to the 9 to 5, or in my old case the 6.30 to 5.00

I usually dont even get it done in time for the last day. My accountant calls me usually a week or two before its due to say, hey jase, can you get the bas across to us now so we have time to get it in before the due date?

Then I gotto hassle fazchicky to enter all 3 months worth of invoices into the spreadsheet, find time to enter the deposits and other expenses from my bank statements and then I can email it. Usually done late one evening when im not in the mood to drink a fair few wild turkeys smile.gif

Sexpo is gonna be a blast, we're gonna have all the new ices and the everything else thats new on the cart to show off. We have new banners made for the walls, spools gonna go staple gun happy with flyers again smile.gif, got a seamstress sewing up a new table cloth so it looks all professional. We have brand new flyers too, ones with more info on them.

Its gonna be great, cant wait for it.

certainly sounds awesome. so wish i could drop by. you guys certainly sound pretty excited about it all.

you sound like we used to be at work faz. one night to process 3 months worth of work. but now all is in the computer sales/orders/purchases are entered on the spot, the computer prints out the deposit slip for the bank so thats done as well and the statements come weekly so to reconcile them is like a 5 minute job. pretty much all thats done in one go now is paying the bills at the end of the month
i remember back to the days before gst and bas statements. different business but the boss used to pretty much dump 12 months stuff on me and say sort this out for the accountant its tax time. at least now its broken down to 3 monthly lots lol.
fazman
lol i remember them days too

I dont mind too much, it only takes me around 2 hours to sort it once fazchick has entered the invoices, plus I built a spreadsheet to sort it all the way the accountant likes it
countrydude
yes i can echo those sentiments FLN it was MYOB that made our lives so much easier at work too
fazman
ive heard myob isnt too bad, but then my old boss used to use it, and still the accountant charged em a fortune for dealing with it afterwards

Mines not to hard, fazchick spends around 3 to 4 hours once every 3 months inputting the invoices, I spend about 2 hours after that entering deposits and other expenses only shown in bank statements and then its done

Especially now with the new spreadsheet formulaes Im using
countrydude
yeah dont get me wrong our accountant still seems to charge a bloody fortune and we appear to do most of the work.
give him the data file on a cd and no doubt even its the office junior that extracts from that most of what he needs. but anyways i guess really myob is really just a jazzed up spreadsheet anyways when you boil it down combined with a database of information.
it boils down to whatever works for you really. KISS... keep it simple stupid. no point at all complicating the matter

Remind to read this when I get home as I have run out of time and need to go to WORK!
