Back to xmas, whats everyone doing for it?

hey everybody
well for me the weekend was kinda busy. its a crazy time of the year after all.
there was a few flights involved as well while i was playing and experimenting with my new christmas present

yesterday was spent hosing out the storage shed and dumping furniture with friends thanks to a blocked storm drain and the river thru town being in flood.
seriously and i realise half the country will shoot me for saying it but i wish the rain would move on to where its needed more and let us dry out here for awhile. so thats what i been up to.
as for christmas im lucky enough to have a couple of weeks off so will be quiet christmas with mum and dad at my brothers house with the neices then probably after boxing day off to ballina for a week or so do a few jobs at the family beach house over there, in between visits to the beach and the bottle shop that is

then all too quickly it will be over and back to work for me as well in the new year.
sounds like you will get a bit of a break which will be good. helluva hike to canberra for you. are you driving ?

Bugger that. I'm going to try and do as much shopping online as possible. I find it easier to browse that way.
Unfortunately only got the actual public holidays off this year so no plans to go away but there are plenty of birthdays etc around this time for me to party at so that is awesome!

Flying down CD, got me a hire car organised for as soon as we land. I very rarely do long driving trips anymore, not with two little kids, but we r planning on doing a 4 to 6 week driving trip next xmas across top of aus.

party on lordoth.
it is a great time of year for that isnt it.
online shopping certainly is a great thing,
not that i did much of it this year but i must say im rather organised for a change all shopping done all presents wrapped. i dont usually bother with a tree cause its just me. everyone else has enough for me to look at in their house lol
yeah faz flying good idea. i thought i had seen you mention somewhere you had kids. long way with them.
across the top of aus sounds like an awesome trip. bet your looking forward to that.
to date ive not been any further north than hervey bay. one of these days ill just up and off though

Ive been as far north as Rockhampton, all the way down the east coast and some of the inland, to Melbourne, and then across to perth. Both driving and flying, so seen all of those parts of the country. Time to see Ayers rock and the olgas and anything else in between.
We actually just bought a new car in preperation for the trip. Since Holden have a great deal on the captiva's right now.
http://www.holden.com.au/www-holden/action...w?modelid=30001Now trying to decide whether to stay in motels or hire a caravan and tow it across. I'll probably end up going the motels as I do like my luxuries and the caravan hire will probably cost as much as motels anyways.
countrydude
Dec 12 2007, 08:46 PM
cool
dont mind the look of the captivas. and my my havent cars come along way. once upon a radio was luxury option and now they come with a features list as long your arm.
i dont mind driving. did the trip to melbourne once (about 14 hours) but was there and back virtually. had to collect my sisters belongings before a trip overseas. and only been as far west as dubbo pretty much so still plenty of the country left for me to see in time
it would be my tip to go with the motels lol. apart from the luxuries as you say... as kids mum and dad used to love taking the caravan everywhere. and with mum and dad and 3 kids well vans arent the most spacious of accomodations. but in saying that when you are considering going for a few weeks they will allow you to carry more of your own personal stuff with you rather than just basically your clothes which will fit in the car and relying on the motels to cater for everything else you need.
either way sounds like fun. certainly something to look forward to next year

Bah, humbug!
I hate Christmas. It's the time of year when everyone gets the chance to be big hypocrites and spend more than they can afford, all the while cursing the consumerism, corporations and what Christmas has become.
The family is great, the food is awesome, but the Christmas spirit is bullshit.
Why would you need Christmas as an excuse to be loving and giving? Shouldn't we all strive to be that every day, without reason?
Yesterday was the first time this year I've had trouble finding parking at my local shopping centre, only because of the hedonism we've come to enjoy so much at this time of the year.
I've asked all of my friends and family not to buy me gifts. I don't need a quantifiable token of their generosity to love them.
To be honest, being bought a drink while out with mates means a lot more to me than a dust collector in wrapping paper under any tree. I truly hope I never become the person who compares the blessing of their friendship to what essentially is a toy in a stocking.

Ebenezer Scrooge
PS: Santa, thanks in advance for the coal.

Working hard, Faz? After that great party for Fazchick? I guess it's so, with more kitchen work until Christmas.
It sounds like you will get a proper break with your family, to relax and enjoy. Good for you.
Will be fairly quiet her. Christmas Day we shall visit my wife's Mother - who is now in care- at 102 years old. First time she has not been well enough to come to us. Then to daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren, home for a late lunch with just me, wife, her twin sister, and two of my sons. All this within ten miles of home. First year since 1983 she hasn't cooked for at least ten! Boxing Day to my ex-army son, his wife and the other two grandchildren, who live 60 miles away. 27th, ten of us here, though. Should be plenty of excuses for attacking my wine cellar!
Your planned trip sounds great. A friend of my wife used a motor caravan last year to go from Darwin across and down to Perth, with two other ladies - all in their sixties. Sounded good to me.

see does fazman know how to get a thread going or what?
CD, totally agree, I remember all the trips when I was in the car saying "are we there yet" and breaking down al the time. Mum and Dad used to always go the cheap, but they couldnt really afford much more. Thank god for being in business. Really starting to think about the trip now, gonna have to plan it out more and see whats on the cards.
Hahahaha FLN, I remember being exactly the same attitude with xmas. I still am in alot of ways. We dont bother with decorations if we r going away, and most times even if we r in town I dont get too keen on it. Fazchicky does for the kiddies, but dam some people go way overboard. As to pressies, for the kids we do a fair bit only cause its something we didnt get to enjoy as kids, but for ourselves we usually just get ourselves 1 pressie each and make sure its something we really wanted.
But in saying all that, Id be quite stoked with a blowjob and nothing else

Thats all I want for every present
Wow Jonny, you have ur three days jam packed, You're gonna need a week off just to get over it all. Yep I am so looking forward to a week with no work to think about. Already planning new years too, since our original plans have been cancelled. Probably just some snags on the bbq with alot of alcohol

. When do we get to see a photo of your wine cellar?
Definately looking forward to the trip now weve decided to do it, there is so much to see across the top of Aus, that most people never see in a lifetime, and seeing them is something I must do in my lifetime. Cant just work all my life away
lordoth
Dec 14 2007, 07:15 AM
Yeah, who needs pressies. Just give money to each other so in the end you haven't received anything at all and you have exactly the same amount of money as you did before Christmas except you have the warm feeling of giving. Aww.

Yeh, Faz, I realised I had NOT added the right time difference, once I was sober again... Had had a good, but rather alcoholic lunch with five friends; the wine was Australian, and we drank rather a lot!
Well if you're retired, you may as well live a little and start Christmas early.
Thanks, Pash, I hope I may ramble on for a few years yet. There's hope: it.s 1.30 a.m., and have just had a session with June and Lia in succession. Thank the Gods and ILF for FleshLights.

I just realised my profile says January. I remember that's when I posted my first testimonial, but I'm pretty sure I'd been around before then.
FLN
Dec 18 2007, 08:45 PM
Yeah, the profile date and post counts got a little messed up when the
forums got hacked, so there's no accurate information for us who've been here for a while.
My first post was
this testimonial which says it was made towards the end of October 2006, but my profile thinks I've only been around since February this year.

happy anniversary jonny.
oh and sounds like you discovered the secret on our aussie wines...
really they should have a warning label on the bottle about how time and for that matter some memories can easily become a blur after consumption !
jonnyW
Dec 19 2007, 05:00 AM
Countrydude: probably 35% of the wine I drink is "fine wine" from Oz. Most of the rest comes from France (40%) and Chile. I am aware that much wine froim Oz has a high alcohol content!
But, I drink it for the superb nose and palate, as well as for the effect... I fear we drank about a bottle+ each with luncheon, which is not too sensible...
We did start a thread on Australian wine, which see.
