I've also posted a similar enquiry in the ST forum. I have just opened a brand new Fl to find it is very sticky to the touch unlike my other one. It has left a pink coating all over the inside of the plastic packing bag and when you touch it it almost feels like the surface is coming off on your fingers.

Is this normal to be so sticky? I am loathe to use when it feels like this, it just doesn't seem normal when compared to my other insert.

Have read a bit about care of the FL, maybe I should try the cornstarch or talcum, but it just seems too sticky for that even. I am concerned that I have a faulty unit, like the plastic has not ben cured properly or something. Is this possible?

Would be interested in any feedback on this issue as I am a brand new user and have just landed my first two inserts.

Welcome to the forums Robmudd. The stickiness is sometimes on the inserts, but if you're saying its leaving colour on the plastic bag from the insert, could you please send us some photos of this. It could be that the insert didnt cure properly.

That is my initial thought, that it hasn't cured properly. The coating on the inside of the bag is like a paste, almost. It isn't that bad, it's just that the other insert I just got was nothing like this one with a clean bag and not sticky.

I'll try and take a few pics for you, but that might take a day or so to get back to you.

Has this happened before, not being cured properly? It is almost like it has been exposed to some chemical contaminant, but it hasn't as it is new out of the bag.

As I say, it's all new to me so I'll have to take a closer look at the sticky one to see if it is really going to be problematic at all. Could just need a good wash to get the mould release off it.

u might want to try those things. We know the old ice inserts used to be sticky as. Also try powdering it

Havent head anything more on it FLN, I was actually thinking about this one this morning as well

Sorry have been away from the computer for a few days.

I think we are fine, it seems to work well!

My main concern is that it is quite a different texture to the other FL I have, it is much softer and does "cling" to everything. I expect there may be natural batch variations to the material used hence the differances between the two units I have.

I have washed and powdered it and it does seem to be OK now. It does prove to be difficult to dry off as everything sticks to it, like a towel!

There's definitely variation between batches - my two have noticeably different colours, despite both being Pink. The ST also has thousands of very tiny air bubbles through the material, whereas the WW is a smooth consistency.
None of that is a problem, it just becomes quite apparent when they're side-by-side.

I find with my 4 fleshies, that they can be sticky all the time, but my pink butt is probably the least stickiest of them all. My Stu, everytime I go to use it, the opening is stuck closed and my ices, dont even bother

I've had the same issue with mine. It felt fine when I took it out of the wrapping but as soon as it got wet it became incredibly sticky. I rubbed it all over with cornflour and it was fine after that but now after a session it has to be floured again so it isn't sticky.

While I don't mind doing it with this one, I would like to get an ice one and I understand that if you rub those with flour too much then they got a little cloudy, which I think defeates the purpose of getting one. Has any one else had any problems with the ice ones and Fazman, do you have any ice ones with clear cases left at the moment??

Sorry jamesa we have no ice cases left. We sent our last one to a customer in the states late last year and he paid top dollar for it cause I think it was the last one left in the world.
