Yummo, just poached up 2 soft eggs on toast with a slice of cheese on each, some thinly sliced smoked ham and topped off with hollandaise sauce.
Is there truly any other way to eat eggs?

i like to eat them half raw. Try boiling them half done and add abit of pepper. If you have one of those soy sause that goes with sushi, chuck abit of that in as well (just the soy sause, not sushi haha). Fantastic taste.

cool never had eggs done like that. I love eggs nearly as much as I like chicken and turkey, turkey being my all time favourite food.
My usual is poached eggs, but I do settle for fried, scrambled, omelette and hard boiled when I want in on a sandwich

YES, Other than poached and cooked perfectly runny with black pepper on them. I LOVE Eggs Benny... in fact this has been a recent craving I satisfied. Of course it did bring up a bit of a debate about the home made hollandaise sauce to the packet one... hahaha
But I gotta say they were very nice!
Im off to melbourne for the weekend and that means eating out for breakfast, lunch and dinner so I shall be looking for somewhere nice to have my eggs benny, and other fine wining and dining!

I'll keep that In mind, seeing as I'm started going to the Gym to build some muscle, going to take me awhile. but dosn't raw egg make you sick? because at work we treat it like a raw meat, and can't serve it runny even if it is asked for it, bacteria or something
What is hollandaise?? is it like Mayonaise that is made in Holland?

well yea they do make you sick, but it only happens once in a while. Wouldn't recommend it. haha Rocky must have had a terrible diarrhea after sculling those raw eggs.

I agree that "packet" hollondaise is as good as the "chef made" sauce you get in many restaurants. I like it on salmon, too.

hollandaise is egg yolks with melted butter slowly heated and stirred together, usually with some lemon juice and rind added.
Spool sent me and pash a recipe that he uses to cook it.
QUOTE
makes enough for a good 6-8 pouched eggs unless your a pig and drown your eggs in which case 4 eggs.
melt a half pound of butter (250g) in a SMALL saucepan SLOWLY. reason coming
splash 125mm of white vinegar in a pan with a few black peppercorns a bay leaf and slice of onion, sprig of thyme or zet of an orange optional.
reduce the vinegar solution by half by bowling ....
while you have been doing your vinegar solution your butter should be melted by now.....
Now look at your melted butter, see how there is a nice golden clear liquid on top and on the bottom of pan a whiteish thicker solution .... YOU DONT WANT THE WHITEISH STUFF. you just want the nice golden clarified butter.
in a mixing bowl add 1 egg yolk or 2 depending on size, I go 2 nice a rich this way. when vinegar solution minus peppercorns bay leaf etc is luke warm add it to egg yolk, doing this if vinegar is hot will cook the yolk.
now with your yolks and vinegar solution in a mixing bowl put over a double boiler with water just simmering. whisk the yolk and vinegar solution till it is nice an creamy and cooked real slow, if i starts to stick to the sides of your bowl your COOKING TOO FAST AND WILL END UP WITH SHARP SCAMBLED EGGS ... remove and kepp whisking alternating the heat so as to cook slow. should take all of 2-4 mins.
once creamy slowly whisk in clarified butter a dribble at a time, if it gets too shinny add 5-10 mls of luke warm water, then continue on till all clarified butter is incorporated or to taste, the more butter the richer the sauce ..... we all like rich sauces right ... SO USE ALL THE BUTTER ... remember not the white shitting milk solids of the butter just the golden stuff ...
sauce done, keep in a warm but not hot or cold place ... will last at least a hour before splitting will occur ....
prepare eggs, spinach, ham chopped dill toast and smoked salmon if you really wan to jazz it up ...
arrange toast spinach, ham and smoked salmon with pouched eggs on top
spoon sauce over eggs spinkle chopped dill ....
eat wash down with coffee and juice ...
hit the couch and enjoy a sunday morning show on tv .... take nap .
cooking time approx 12 mins
eating time 2 mins
tv time maybe 15 mins
nap time more often than not 20-30 mins ...
total time 50-60 mins

Had a bacon and egg roll from the local sandwich shop this morning. Man, it was good. So much better in a fresh roll than in a muffin like from McDonalds. Sometimes on Friday a lot of us go in on them and get them delivered to our office. It's like a fun treat too, which sounds kind of lame lol

All good no name, I worked there when I was 15 for 12 months before I started my apprentice ship
I used to pop into one of my fav takeaways about 35min drive from where I am cause they made the best bacon, egg and cheese rolls for breakfast. When I worked in area years ago id be there nearly daily having one, but after leaving that industry to pursue my own avenues it became a treat to pop in and grab one when I was in the area. But alas, now they've sold the shop to a new couple and its gone to shit.

I had eggs benny twice in Melb for brekkie at two different locations. Both made VERY differently.
One did it with traditional Muffins but used bacon as opposed to ham which is my preference.
The other used HUMONGOUS plates so they used 2 HUMONGOUS pieces of toast and then the ham covered the toast, but the egg looked lost in the middle. PLUS they overcooked my eggs.
I noticed Hungry Jacks is offering an eggs benny type muffin deal.. haven't tried that, im not sure I could either.
I haven't tried Spool's homemade hollandaise sauce yet... but one of these days I will.
I like using the hollandaise on my fish too...!
On another note.. FUCK it's cold in Melbourne? Snowing over there in places now I hear??? Im not surprised.
Also explains why swine flu is so popular over there.

Fazchicky doesnt like anything from HJ's for breaky, she prefers the new bacon and cheese muffin and Maccas and we both like the iced coffee, so if we're grabbing that for breaky when we visit the chiropractor then we do both places for breaky
